The chip DSC 1 integrates all essential parts of the DSC, heater, sensor and electronics in a miniaturized housing.
The chip arrangement consists of a heater and temperature sensor in a chemically inert ceramic arrangement with a metallic heater and temperature sensor.
This enables high reproducibility and, due to the low mass, excellent temperature control and heating rates of up to 100 K/min. The integrated sensor is easily replaceable and available at low cost.
The integrated design of the chip sensor provides excellent raw data, allowing direct analysis without pre- or post-processing of the heat flow data.
The compact design leads to a significant reduction in production costs, which can be passed on to our customers.

Applications
Fast cooling rates with the chip DSC
The Linseis chip DSC enables the fastest possible cooling rates without the need for an active cooler.
Due to the low thermal mass and the innovative sensor design, cooling rates of up to 200 K/min from the maximum temperature to 100°C and up to 50 K/min from 100°C to room temperature are possible.
When starting ballistic cooling from a 400°C isothermal segment, 50°C is achieved in less than 3 minutes measuring time.
Measurement of PET pellets
A PET pellet was heated, cooled by quenching to freeze the amorphous state and then measured using chip DSC with a linear heating rate of 50 K/min.
The curve shows a significant glass transition around 80 °C, followed by crystallization of the amorphous parts from 148 °C and a melting peak at 230.6 °C.
