The nickel-chromium-iron alloy INCONEL® 600 has good mechanical properties such as high strength.
It is also resistant to corrosion and heat.
It is therefore a commonly used technical material for various applications, including the chemical and electronics industries.
The Inconel sample was analyzed using LFA to determine the thermal diffusivity in the temperature range from room temperature to 500 °C.
With the data for the specific heat capacity and the density, the thermal conductivity can be calculated.
Both the thermal diffusivity as well as the thermal conductivity increase with temperature.
The measured data points were also compared with literature values (solid lines).
A slight deviation can be seen here, amounting to a maximum of three percent.
