DIL L75 HP High pressure

Length change under pressure and temperature

Description

To the point

The Linseis DIL L75 HP high-pressure dilatometer opens up completely new areas of application in thermal analysis. The system can measure changes in length in a temperature range from RT to 1100/1400/1800°C and in a pressure range up to 100/150 bar. This makes the device the only high-pressure dilatometer available worldwide. A water vapor generator and complex gas controls are of course optionally available.
To obtain further information about your sample, you can of course couple the measuring device with a mass spectrometer (QMS) or FTIR system at any time to analyze the exhaust gases. This coupling is realized by means of specially integrated hardware and software concepts from LINSEIS. Several libraries are available for interpreting the results.

Software

Making values visible and comparable

The powerful LINSEIS thermal analysis software, which is based on Microsoft® Windows®, performs the most important function in the preparation, execution and evaluation of thermoanalytical experiments, in addition to the hardware used. With this software package, Linseis offers a comprehensive solution for programming all device-specific settings and control functions, as well as for data storage and evaluation. The package was developed by our in-house software specialists and application experts and has been tried and tested over many years.

Applications

Application example: DTA measurement using a quartz sample With the L75 dilatometer and the DTA evaluation add-on, a DTA measurement can be carried out on a crystalline (SiO2) sample with simultaneous temperature calibration. During a linear heating phase of the sample, the control behavior is changed by the endothermic and exothermic reactions and corrected by the software program. A DTA curve is generated from these changes. Since, according to the literature, this transformation takes place at 574°C for SiO2, the calibration can be checked using the DTA peak.

Application example

The linear thermal expansion (ΔL) and the coefficient of thermal expansion CTE of a sample, measured in an argon atmosphere with a heating rate of 5 K / min, has its eutectic and Curie point at 736.3 °C. The measured temperature peak of the expansion coefficient can be compared with the literature value and thus the calibration of the device can be checked.
